Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my classroom are working on math, science, ela, social pragmatic, and functional living skills. Most have cognitive impairments or multiple disabilities which prevent them from learning successfully in typical classroom settings. Many of these children come from low income backgrounds where meeting daily needs is a challenge.

Even still, my students love to learn; especially through hands on activities.

They require additional supports to help them stay focused and regulated throughout the school day.

Given the current situation, every child needs their own version of materials we are finding ourselves struggling to keep up with the demand of supplies needed to help our wonderful students learn.

My Project

Our students have a variety of disabilities that require fun engaging and hands on learning. The Brother business printer will help us print color activities for our 3 multi-needs classrooms who are learning both in person, and remotely. It will allow us to create materials for each individual student that can be sent home and used during instruction. The construction paper and hook and loop dots will help us create hands on and fun learning activities to help engage our students in our new style of learning during this pandemic. All of these items will help 3 classrooms full of students with varying needs succeed in learning both in the classroom and at home.
