My students are eager to learn and love hands on manipulatives. They are learning to read sight words, and I would like for them to have more sight word readers along with other learning tools to make learning fun!
My Pre-K class is comprised of 36 students.
It is split into a morning class and an afternoon class. Our school is a Title I school, and most of my students live in a low income area and the majority of them live in non-English speaking households. They are all very eager to learn and at this age love school!
My Project
My classroom was very fortunate to fund a project that allowed us to have a small group set of iPad minis. The iPad mini covers will ensure that our iPads stay safe and secure so that they won't get damaged. The sight word readers, levels one and two, will give my Pre-K students the opportunity to start reading. They are currently learning some sight words, and I would like them to start reading little books. The sight word puzzles will help re-enforce this skill. We also need more play doh tools in our classroom as our other tools are starting to get worn out. These tools help my students develop fine motor skills along with helping them use their creativity. The sorting trays will help my students keep all their materials in one area when they're doing arts and crafts. The balls will help keep my little ones busy and active during recess. Finally, the books will keep their imaginations and minds busy.
All these learning materials that I mentioned will help my Pre-K grow tremendously with their language, reading, and math skills.
Having hands on materials to learn with will making learning fun and exciting!
