My Students

Our school is located in Queens, New York. We come from a culturally diverse area and work to provide equal opportunities for all!

My fifth-grade students are inquisitive and excited to learn!

There are 28 eager students in this class who constantly want to learn. Curious, enthusiastic, and creative; my students are eager to immerse themselves in any kind of challenge. They are fearless when it comes to technology and, as children of the 21st century, have learned to use technology to the benefit of the education.

My Project

We have mindset Monday books that help us dig deep into our emotions. Students use various art mediums to illustrate their emotions or his/her response from the book. Social emotional learning has been one of the biggest components that helped students adjust back to school after a year of remote learning. Electronic colored pencil and crayon sharpeners will make sharpening art supplies much easier for students. Our fifth graders have also been creating thank you cards for community helpers. In addition, we have created cards to sending to elders who are staying at nursing homes around our school community.
