Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are an inclusive group of both general education students and special education students who have a range of needs and learning styles.

My students are eager second grade learners who miss coming to school!

Being out of school has really taken a toll on them, and the thought of going full remote this year is really impacting them social emotionally. My students are a mixed group of students with disabilities that impact their attention, focus and ability to reach second grade standards.

These amazing students are visual learners, who learn best when they can connect to and relate to exciting lessons, and are motivated by hands-on experiences and tasks that help them develop their creativity and critical thinking skills.

My Project

Covid-19 has not made teaching easy, and my students are struggling. As we prepare to potentially go full remote again, I would like to create access to an arsenal of e-books via Amazon.com to use as read alouds and mentor texts.  

I believe that in order to keep our students engaged, we have to make instruction fun!  Online learning can be hard and stamina is low among younger students.  I am hoping to be able to purchase Kindle / e-Books to make reading exciting even if we are learning through devices and not in person.  In addition, my in-person blended students need access to basic supplies!

We are low on scissors, pencil pouches, tissues and technology.  My students deserve a magical year, no matter the circumstances.  Please help support my classroom and keep the fun in second grade!
