Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In this project, high school students will explore the structure and function of the brain and the science behind healing and recovery from challenging life events. They will create an engaging, interactive exhibition for elementary school students to foster an early understanding of neuroscience and mental resilience while gaining hands-on research and teaching experience.

To bring this project to life, students will conduct research on brain function, neuroplasticity, and the ways the brain heals from stress and trauma.

They will then organize their findings and design visually appealing materials to make complex concepts accessible to younger students.

Interactivity will be key to engaging the elementary audience. Students will create hands-on activities, such as brain model demonstrations, simple memory and reaction time tests, and sensory experiments to illustrate brain function and adaptability.

Our goal is to inspire curiosity about the brain, highlight the power of resilience, and equip students with knowledge about mental and emotional well-being in an interactive and meaningful way.

To make this exhibition possible, we need supplies such as:

Posters and visual aids on brain function and neuroplasticity

Art supplies for interactive learning stations

Materials for simple cognitive and sensory experiments (e.g., memory games, reaction time tests)

Small incentives (stickers, bookmarks) to reinforce learning
