My Students

To start, my students are absolutely amazing. I know a lot of teachers say that their students are great but, mine truly are. My school is a Los Angeles Unified STEMM School. STEMM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Medicine. We are a high rigor, concept building, exploratory school. Our students are required to not only grasp the basic concepts, but also consider the whys and hows.

As part of the school population, my particular students all have learning disabilities/ eligibilities.

Some include Autism, Specific Learning Disabilities in the areas of Attention, Auditory and Visual Processing.

My Project

These materials will help my students access the curriculum by being on hand in the classroom. Many of my students would benefit from color coding materials so access to color ink for our classroom printer as well as colorful dry erase markers for explaining steps and organization are key! Not to mention, the students get a kick out of using the markers.

Public schools are always on a budget.

Simple things needed such as glue sticks, pencils and erasers are always in need. Our students also benefit from sound spelling poster boards and charts which without the proper materials will continuously fall from the walls.
