Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Covid-19 has hit my students very hard. My students are 5th-8th graders who are on the spectrum. They range from having Autism, Learning Disabilities and Emotional Disturbance. Remote learning has been a struggle for them. Some are struggling to understand the curriculum because they don't have physical copies/ resources/ materials to rely on.

My students love learning.

They are active and energetic. They are trying their hardest to do the best that they can with the situation at hand, but they still require a lot of help. Please help me help my students.

My Project

Covid-19 has hit us all hard, specially our students and parents. Many parents are unable to go out and get materials/ supplies for the kids. Teachers and students left supplies/ resources at schools, believing we would be back soon. Due to this, many of our students are lacking in many supplies, even the most basic ones, like a pencil and notebook. I want to provide this for my students.

My students come from underprivileged/ underfunded communities and are struggling to complete their classwork due to this.

By trying to set a background that students are more comfortable with (like the white board and chart paper) I am targeting their mental state. My students are all on the spectrum (Autism, learning disabilities, emotional disturbance) and they need as much stability as they can get during this time. My hope is to get some work printed, laminated and shipped to my students, so that they are able to relate to the material as best as they can.

These materials will be mailed to my students in order to help them as much as possible. I will be putting these kits together and mailing them directly the students. I know both parents and students will be ecstatic to get these much needed resources.
