My Project

Where do I begin? The students I have the pleasure and honor of teaching are smart, kind, energetic, motivated, and loving.

Out of all of the students at our school, my students have the highest needs from a behavioral, social, emotional, and cognitive perspective.

They range in ability and age levels and are deeply curious learners from various cultural backgrounds within a very strong community. They need the utmost support as they are all learning at different paces, on different grade-levels, and with vast learning and behavioral needs. They live in a very low-socioeconomic neighborhood in Harlem, New York and receive free breakfast, lunch, and after-school snacks. To accommodate their academic, social emotional, sensory, and daily living needs, we need your help! The supplies I am asking for are geared towards daily necessities from classroom decor (boarders, paper, letters, board decorations) to make their learning environment bright, to organizational materials like notebooks, folders and labels, to art supplies, and various activities to use in center groups like the Instant Learning Centers, dry erase boards, and headphones. I also have included different items that will assist me in creating differentiated and modified materials for their learning such as ink, paper, adhesives, as well as stools and seating options like stools and cushions so that I can reach all students with ease.

I want my students to feel inspired by positive affirmations which are included in some of the posters and signs that I have added to my materials. I know that my students will thrive with these resources that they would not otherwise have if it weren't for Donor's Choose!
