My Project

My enthusiastic third graders live in the beautiful town of Hilo on Hawai‘i Island, a community rich in history and diversity. They have a deep love for learning across all subjects, especially when they can explore concepts through hands-on experiences.

This project will provide materials for creating scientific models that bring their learning to life.

With modeling clay, my students will craft detailed ecosystem dioramas, modeling animals, plants, and landscapes while illustrating food chains, food webs, and the relationship between living and nonliving elements. Presentation boards will allow them to showcase their understanding of heredity, focusing on inheritance and variation of traits.
