My Students

I am always amazed at the perseverance of my students and how they are always eager to learn new things. I often watch how they start off not speaking English and then blossom into becoming proficient learners. Approximately 8% of my students are English Language Learners. I want to encourage my students to embrace their culture and their language as a foundation of who they are and support them the best way I can to thrive and excel in whatever they choose to do.

My Project

Even though my students have access to a varied classroom library, they need box bins that serves as a personal “to-go” library. As they develop their reading and writing skills in English they needs access to resources that will support their development in these areas. My students often struggle with reading and writing, this year I want to give my students more opportunities to improve their reading and writing skills and show growth by the end of the school year. As students learn new language skills these resources will help to provide better access to support their learning.
