My Students

I work at an an elementary school in North Miami. My school is rated as a Title I school, and 99% of students receive free or reduced-price lunch throughout the school year. Most students come from a bilingual home, and their primary home language is not English.

My students are sweet and funny, and they make it a pleasure to come to work on a daily basis.

All of them are on the autism spectrum, and they have speech and language impairments as well as emotional and sensory deficits. They come to school each day excited and pumped for learning. It is truly a great feeling to see them blossom on a daily basis as they try to achieve their learning goals.

My Project

I teach in a classroom with students with Autism. Most of my students need individualized assistance with their learning. Please help me to give them these basic supplies that will help to create a great learning experience for then.

Most of my students have fine motor deficiencies, having a pen to write on our Microsoft tablet will help them to be involved in learning.

We would like to have a cover for our Mac book as they have to share and move the equipment from place to place. Having a cover on it will help to ensure its safety. A cooling cart is necessary to transport supplies from one area of the campus to another and having books and supplies to decorate the classroom will help to energize the look of our classroom.
