Our 5th grade classes are made up of a unique blend of students including gifted and talented, dyslexic, special needs, and ESL students. These students come to school every day with not only academic needs but emotional needs also. Many of our students are low-income and on free and reduced lunch. The school I teach at is in a high poverty area. As teachers, we strive to meet their every need the best we can.
My students come to school eager to learn about things that they can apply to their daily lives.
The things they learn in math and science can be used and seen every day all around us!
My Project
Students will use the Chromebooks every day during math and science for research and access to online programs and materials. Most of the students in my classroom do not have access to technology at home so I feel it is my job to give them that access during school. By having these Chromebooks in my classroom, I can show students that their learning is not just through pencil and paper.
In our society today, we know that technology has become a way of life for personal and professional use.
The technology I plan to use in my classroom will give students access to material that I cannot give them without Chromebooks.
The pencil sharpener will be used to make our morning routine go faster and smoother when students need to sharpen their pencils quickly and efficiently.
