This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of low income children living in the lower part of Manhattan in New York City. They face many challenges both in and out of the classroom. The supplies needed will support students who will be learning remotely. Our school contains both general education classrooms and ICT classrooms. ICT is an Integrated Co-Teaching Classroom (ICT) where students with disabilities receive integrated co-teaching services and are educated with age appropriate peers in the general education classroom. ICT provides access to the general education curriculum and specially designed instruction to meet students’ individual needs. students are caring, energetic and have a thirst for knowledge.

My Project

My goal is to be able to make remote learning as enjoyable and as similar to in person learning as possible! These tools will help me teach my students effectively. Elementary learners, especially those with special needs, learn best with visuals and the ability to complete assignments with the teacher.

I will be using my iPad to create hands-on lessons.

The iPad holder and keyboard will replace my computer. It is a better option because of the touch screen. I am able to project material onto the computer and model math. This helps deepen student understanding. They see me model, then they complete problems with me and then move to independently working.
