I teach in an urban school district were most of my students come from low income families. Unfortunately, many people put stereotypes on the students. But I have learned that there is no greater joy than being a teacher here.
This is my seventh year teaching and I have learned that my students have such great potential.
I believe that my students deserve the absolute best education possible, no matter where they live, and my goal is to give it to them. These students come to me eager to learn and wanting to know more. While the curriculum may be tough, I know they are always ready for the challenge.
My Project
Now that we are back to in school learning, we use our school materials daily. These range from a pencil sharpener, markers, pencils, white boards, sticky notes and notebooks. While learning with technology is still part of our day, hands-on learning is one of the most important ways to learn.
The supplies are getting low, but the learning isn't done!
Every year it seems that our supplies during the year get used very quickly, but most years our students are able to bring in their own. However, it turns out this year seems to be a challenge for some families. My hope is that we can make sure our students are successful by having all their materials here at school if they need them.
