Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We teach a wonderful group of eager 2nd grade students. They always come in with smiles on their faces and are ready to take on each new day.

Class 2-300 has 25 bright, enthusiastic learners!

They are curious, excited, respectful, and grateful. Our classroom is an ICT (integrated co-teaching) class. Our school is in an extremely high needs, high poverty inner city area. Our students are trying to conquer the second grade curriculum! Our students are so passionate about learning despite all of the challenges that they face. They come to school ready to learn even though they are missing parts of their families back in their native country. Many of the families are extremely poor even though all adults are working multiple jobs. We want our students to reach for the stars. We work on their confidence levels daily and let them know we will NEVER give up on them

My Project

Unfortunately due to low budget this year we have not been provided with any printer paper. Our students have been generous to donate several reams at the start of the school year; however, due to all of the copies we make on a daily basis our supply is running short. Unfortunately, this supply will not last much longer. We are also VERY low on pencils. Pencils are a NECESSITY in our classroom! My Co-teacher and myself have made several Staples trips this year and we just cannot keep up! We also would LOVE to have privacy partitions for our classroom. We assess our students very frequently and currently use classroom folders that are flimsy and do not do the job.

Our students will be able to have all of the necessary materials needed.

They will all be able to have their own materials and not worry about searching for a missing pencil anymore!
