Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These supplies are for the rest of the year to make everything go smoothly. There's black HTV for more t-shirts, a fire blanket because that's always good to have in a science lab, pumps for our resin group, Clorox wipes because the chickens will hatch soon and they will be really needed, and a pair of very requested left handed scissors. Along with some snacks to fill some hungry bellies.

My WIN is a wonderful enrichment period where I really go all out in maximizing student experiences.

I believe you learn by doing and making memorable experiences makes learning fun. When kids are having fun, they want to learn more. It makes a wonderful perpetual cycle of life long learners.

As a teacher in a low-income school district, I want to provide all I can for my students to have the most memorable educational experience.

Our students come from very diverse backgrounds. We have over 1000 students in our school. Over 80% of them are receiving free or reduced-price lunches daily. Over half of the student body is Latino, and we have an extremely large English as a Second Language (ESL) population. Over 80% of my homeroom have exited the ESL program. Over 35% of my students are classified as special needs.
