This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are a curious, fun, and motivated group of second graders! It is a small bilingual Spanish special education class (12:1) comprised of students with different learning needs including speech and language impairment, autism, and sensory deficits. They love creating: writing pieces with great illustrations, fun and colorful math projects, beautiful science and social studies works, too! Our school is located in a low-income, high-need community. One hundred percent of our students receive free lunch. The truth is, we just can't afford to buy all of the supplies needed to help differentiate instruction to meet the needs of struggling learners.

The resources that I am requesting in my proposal will help to bring fun and creativity to meet the learning needs of my students.

The markers and crayons will help my students illustrate and create with an emphasis on multicultural learning. The crayons and construction paper will allow them to create projects where they are able to represent their own cultures and see themselves in their work. I often need to print assignments, writing paper, graphic organizers, word banks, and anchor charts that are adapted to the learning needs of my students. With so many video games these days, creativity and imagination are precious skills that are being lost. The printer paper, ink, and other supplies will support education in my classroom by helping to differentiate assignments for my special needs and English Language Learner students.

Help me bring color and fun to learning in my classroom. My curious second graders deserve it. Any donation would be GREATLY appreciated!
