My Project

I work as an occupational therapist in a contained classroom. The children love arts and crafts. They have helped me make crochet projects to give to staff members as presents. The children have told me they want to make toys that they can keep. This project would cover everything I would need to do larger scale projects as well as make sensory toys for regulation. Crochet helps with fine motor skills, planning, reading, attention to task, bilateral coordination, visual motor skills and is a practical skill that can be used to make items for daily use.
