Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are just like me. They go to school in the same neighborhood that I grew up in. They are inquisitive, thoughtful and resilient. They motivate me each and every day to give the best of myself. They remind me that they deserve the very best education possible.

My students are eager to learn.

They waited so long to get their 4th grade school year started. They have witnessed many hardships in their short lives, especially with the natural disaster that swept Houston right before their school year got started.

My Project

Many of my students came to school with very few things from the supply list. They were expecting to begin school at an earlier date but unfortunately, Harvey delayed our start by 2 weeks.

When parents tried to go out and purchase supplies, many things were already pulled from the shelves.

My students will use some of these supplies to create their data tracking binders and anchor charts.

I will use the colored paper and laminating sheets to create meaningful work stations in order to help them achieve their Reading goals. After many years, our magnetic timer finally gave out and I know that our time manager will be excited when he sees a new one!
