My Students

Where do I begin? The students I have the pleasure and honor of teaching are smart, kind, energetic, motivated, and loving. They have the drive to reach their highest learning potential. These hardworking children in the fifth grade and are such deeply curious learners. They live in a very low-socioeconomic community in Harlem, New York and receive free or reduced-price breakfast, lunch, and after-school snacks.

My students are in an inclusive classroom and all have unique learning needs as they all have diagnosed disabilities, or as I like to call it "developmental variations." Many of them have parents that are doing their very best to survive but need support to ensure their children are not being neglected at home.

My students have many burdens they are exposed to and it is essential that they feel safe, loved, included, and inspired at school, and that is why I need your help!

My Project

These materials will help my co-teacher and me create materials for our students. We print all of our own materials and create new materials to differentiate instruction, assignments, and tasks to meet the developmental needs of our students. The ink and paper will allow us to scaffold our instruction with modifications with ease.

Since our students cannot share materials due to COVID-19 we need more supplies than a typical school year.

Our students need a lot of support with executive functioning skills so the binder clips, binder folders, labels, and baggies will help us stay organized. These items are essential in supporting our students on a daily basis.
