My Students

My classroom is a melting pot. I teach multi-lingual 1st grade SEI (which means I have a classroom full of students learning English, while also still learning the standard grade-level content). This means my students need lots of opportunity to practice language through reading, writing, listening and speaking, and lots of opportunity to express themselves in a variety of ways while their English skills get caught up.

As we prepare to reconvene in September, I'm busily re-thinking my classroom structure, layout, and methods so that I can best help my students make up for any learning lost in the last 18 months.

My Project

In order to be effective in my teaching, I modify, enhance or supplement what we are doing to meet the needs of each individual in my class. This means lots of time spent searching for, modifying or creating resources. With this project, I focus more of my energy on teaching, by purchasing materials created by other educators. I can use these materials purchased from the Teachers Pay Teachers website during class to scale up or down the lesson, or even send it home as homework for families. With this credit, I will be able to have my pick.
