Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Through the use of multiple texts, all students have the opportunity to learn new information and make meaningful contributions to discussions. Moreover, varied texts provide multiple perspectives that help students rethink events and issues that impact everyone and deepen their knowledge of literary genres. These supplemental novels will break up the monotonous routine of reading our textbook. Through my experience, students really enjoy and are engaged during our novel studies.

Supplemental books are not just pages bound together; they are catalysts for curiosity, growth, and empathy.

I chose this novel because it was not only a favorite of mine growing up, but I love the cross-curricular aspect of the story. I hope to expose my students to different genres throughout the year so they can find what they love!
