Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My third graders are curious learners and perceptive thinkers. They want to understand the world around them and contribute in a meaningful way towards a future that is bright with possibility. They face many obstacles in our urban neighborhood but with the right tools and opportunities they will soon be our future inventors, leaders, and decision makers. My students love to learn through reading and exploration. I watch them engage in our world community by interacting with current events and trying out new solutions to solve every problem. They are gifted communicators with limitless possibility.

My Project

These beginning of year school supplies will help my students stay organized as we prepare for a great school year. All students come to school on the first day excited to learn, but they don't all come with the materials to support them as they strive for their full potential. The folders will transport their homework and important paperwork for families on a daily basis. The journals will record our science inquiry over the course of the school year. The plastic pouches will hold our math and ELA individual student goals so that students can keep track of their progress throughout the year. The lanyards will help us organize our group work and will keep us safe on field trips when we take our learning outside of the classroom.
