Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are excited about Special Prom. This is the 14th year of Special Prom and this event is wonderful! Students with disabilities and general education students celebrate Special Prom. My students help plan and coordinate Special Prom.

My students are asking for support.

Please help my students get the materials they need to make Special Prom successful. My students are excited about this community service project because it focuses on kindness.

This project has masks, and necklaces. My students will write a note on the post-it notes we have in class. My students will write a note stating what they appreciate about the students with disabilities. My students want to write compliments to promote kindness in our school community. My students will use paper bags we already have in class and put the paper mask, a necklace, and the post-it note with the compliment in the bag.

My students want to set up a photo drop background and display decorative tinsel streamers at Special Prom to have a spot where students take photos. The photo background, decorative tinsel streamers, and double sided mounting tape to put up the photo backdrop and tinsel streamers are included in this project. These materials are necessary so that students have photos to remember Special Prom.

My students are excited to do this service community project. My students mentioned that the students with disabilities will be happy when they open the paper bag and take out the mask and necklace. The students with disabilities will be excited to wear the mask and necklace at Special Prom. My students can’t wait for the students with disabilities to read their compliment. Thank you for supporting my students’ interest in coordinating this community service project that promotes kindness.
