Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first graders are full of energy and their curiosity drives their learning. They get so excited when we are learning about new topics that are related to them and the world around them. Their love and passion for learning is infinite.

Our school is a Title I school with 552 students with 100% of them receiving free lunch.

Ninety percent of our students are socioeconomically disadvantaged, with a forty percent English language leaner population at my school. In my first grade class, I have 14 students that are English language learners and 10 Standard English Learners. I also have some students that are foster children.

Even with all of these struggles we strive for the best. I believe that very child can learn when one shows them that they are important and that they matter.

My Project

My students would most definitely benefit from having the soccer balls and goal nets. They are many health benefits such as it increases aerobic capacity and cardiovascular health.

In our community many of of our students are obese due to a poor diet or the lack of exercise.

Having the soccer equipment that we can use during physical education can lower their body fat and improves muscle tone. They can stay fit and healthy.

Another benefit is that soccer helps them to build social skills such as teamwork, cooperation, communication, concentration, and it improves their gross motor skills. Also, it boosts their self-esteem and self-confidence. Most importantly it makes learning fun!
