My Students

My students are bold, curious, kind, and fun-loving! They love to read and explore, can tell you hundreds of facts about animals, and always challenge themselves to learn and grow. They have shown the most amazing tenacity, patience, and courage during virtual learning this year.

Many of my students are from low-income households and do not have access to the resources needed to best learn at home.

Even so, they continue to thrive and engage any way they can.

We don't know exactly what the rest of the school year holds for us, but we anticipate that some of us will be returning to the school building in early 2021 and some of us will remain virtual. This is exciting and intimidating at the same time. Things will be different! We are focused on making learning engaging and effective wherever it takes place!

My Project

One of the things my students and I miss the most about being in our classroom is the hands-on learning. This is particularly true when studying science! The online resources that I am requesting will engage my students in science even while we are learning virtually. They include fascinating videos of scientific phenomena, along with explanations and activities that get students to think critically. There are demonstrations of experiments as well as instructions and support for hands-on experiments, so students can really be involved in scientific exploration whether or not they have access to physical materials.

These resources will support my budding scientists as they explore our world and gain critical life- and career-enhancing skills.

We appreciate your help in making sure we have access to quality STEM resources even during these challenging times!
