My Students

My students love learning in stations. They need more materials for their science and social studies stations. Science and social studies enriches the reading lessons in class as students read nonfiction stories and complete hands-on activities that go with the stories.

My school is a Title 1 School.

Almost 70% of the students qualify for free or reduced price lunches. Making learning fun is very important with these students. Last year over half of my students read below grade level, it is important to use every opportunity to improve their reading and love of learning. If they are excited about coming to school and learning half the battle is already won.

My Project

My students love learning stations. They like to be able to move around the classroom and complete activities in small groups. They need more hands-on activities for their science and social studies stations. Hands-on activities keep them engaged and learning. They need to practice reading directions and writing about the outcomes. Science and social studies activities keep them motivated to read directions, nonfiction books, and to write about what they have learned. This improves reading, comprehension, and writing skills, while they are having fun! This is a win-win situation for the students and the teacher.

My students need to be able to read and write on grade level or better.

Making these activities fun using learning stations keeps them happy, engaged, and loving to learn each day. If students love to learn at an early age and feel successful it will make them lifelong learners.
