Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten students are the most delightful, inquisitive children that I have ever taught. They have a love of learning, and exploring everything around them. They come from various backgrounds, both culturally, as well as socio-economic. However, none of that matters in our classroom where we are seen as a big family.

My Project

Note from Teacher: I bought my last year students capes, and was able to afford because of the smaller class. However, this year with a full class, I am unable to purchase capes for my students for our super readers celebration.

Note from Students: We are currently learning to read by becoming super readers!

We have learned to point under each word using pointer power, look at the pictures by using picture power, and looking for sight words by using snap word power!! We even got some cool witch fingers from SPIDER-MAN! But we are missing capes! These capes will help us feel like REAL super readers, and keep us engaged and learn to love reading! We will use these capes during readers workshop to remind us that we truly are super readers, and that reading is FUN!
