Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Throughout the day, the art teacher runs from room to room with a cart with limited supplies. She inspires students to use art as a way to express their feelings.

The art teacher, teaches grade Per K-2 in a tittle one public school in the South Bronx where art resources are slim to none.

Due to limited funding teachers struggle when it comes to making classroom projects. The resources are limited but not the students minds. Having donor choose is a blessing to us.

My Project

The materials that we are asking will help the students tremendously. Students will learn about Asian architecture and will built a 2D city with texture using foil paper and tooth sticks. During the healthy eating awareness unit students will use molding clay to create fruit and vegetable sculptures. Students will explore different printmaking techniques. The portfolios will help the art teacher to store the artwork in a safe place. I, the art teacher decorate many of the school bulletin boards as well as classroom doors but since resources are limited I have to cut my own letters which is time consuming. The letter cutter machine will help me tremendously because it will allow me with more time to plan art projects for 300 students.

These donations will give the students the opportunity to explore and be able to make beautiful art pieces in different art techniques without the worry of not having the essential supplies.

Students will be aware that visual arts can be a way to speak our mind and feeling in a positive way.
