My Students

Remember the feeling of walking from the hot sun to a shaded area, and the impact it had on your body and attitude? It was a great feeling to have that opportunity. Our school does not have that. We have an outdoor field one block from our school, with no shade around.

Our students are good kids who have been given a rough start with their surroundings and environment.

They are striving for excellence in anything. They are hungry for success in school. I would love to give them an opportunity to see something outside of their normal "world" and offer them a change to their normal routine. I want to spark their little minds to see the world in a different way.

My Project

I am requesting a pop-up shade cover that I can set up outside in our field area. We do not have any shade in our grass field area, and this would allow our students to get a break from the sun and heat for a few moments. This will keep their encouragement high during the activities and not feel down about being outside. They will learn how to cooperate with one another during the activities, and how to succeed in whatever we do during the school day (academic or physical).

This project is important because it offers our students concern for their well-being.

They do not get many things for their benefit in their lives. I want to give them something encouraging through relief from the sun during our outdoor activities.
