Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

During these unprecedented times, our students have made major strides to fully participate in online learning. The first challenge to hurdle was to provide resources. What you and I may consider a necessity like wifi and technology is really a luxury for my students. Located in the heart of the South Bronx, very few students have those resources available.

Through creativity and enthusiasm, we have been able to keep them engaged in the learning process.

The world has become our classroom! We have hosted many career days with people around the country to inspire our students, hosted virtual field trips, movie nights and spirit days. However, even with that there still seems to be something missing.

In 20 days our school year is over, we won't see our students until September and something about that feels wrong. I am asking for help to send my students off to summer break with a token of appreciation.

My Project

We all know that distance learning has been quite the struggle. However, P.S./M.S. 29 has found many creative ways to engage students in this new type of learning. We would like to continue to inspire our students over the summer by supplying then with some items that can continue to inspire.

I have picked out a few things I think my students would enjoy, including: DIY & Career exploration books, sunglasses and metals to thank them for their hard work and dedication!
