Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I am excited to be in a 2-3 multi-age classroom. My students come from diverse backgrounds and each one brings a unique strength to share and make our classroom a true learning hub.

The goal for this year is to know what compassion is, practice compassion, and spread compassion to all that we interact with.

We will be reading the book Wonder by R.J. Palacios and will close read to understand the underlying message of compassion and kindness that the book is drenched with.

I am very excited this year for my students as they learn to use technology to do research on various topics such as Animal Habitat and Adaptations. They will learn about primary sources and secondary sources and how to cite mentor work. Furthermore, this year we are launching our new science curriculum - Project Lead The Way, which is a comprehensive curriculum that will prepare my students as they move up the grades.

This year is full of new learning and new beginnings!

My Project

After a roller coaster year and a half of school, I would like to send off my students to summer with books in their hands.

These graphic novels by Jarett Lerner are just the right books that inspire creativity and hours of fun during summer!

Summer can be long if you don't have access to resources. I would like my students to have books that can fill their summer days with not only fun reading but books that inspire them to be creative. These books are fun that will allow my students to be authors and illustrators!
