My Project

My students love to read and they have made tremendous progress during this difficult school year. They will fill their book bags with 3-5 books a week to satisfy their hunger for reading. Unfortunately, during their summer break, they will not have access to books.

I want to give each student books to take home during their summer break so they can continue to read daily.

In order for them to continue to increase their reading ability, they need books to practice and read. Many students will not have the opportunity to go to the library or get access to high interest books. In addition, because of their socio-economic background, many students will not do much outside their home during the break. Books can take them on adventures they normally wouldn't be able to experience and learn new and exciting things. Finally, I want to prevent reading loss and have them continue to enjoy reading and learning by giving them plenty of books to take home to read.

I can't wait to see them in the new school year, excited to tell me about their adventures in reading.
