This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Did you know the landscape of today's library has changed? Goodbye, silent rows of books and librarians saying, "Shhhhh!" Hello, bustling hubs of technology, collaboration, and discussion! Thousands of books are available to students at the touch of a screen. Now, we need a place to enjoy them!

We serve a diverse group of brilliant students who have limited educational resources outside of school.

Many students don't have a safe, comfortable environment to read, do homework, or relax. We want our library to be a haven for students to do all of those things, and hopefully to fall in love with reading in the process!

My Project

My students need chairs, a sofa, and charging stations to create a warm and inviting environment that encourages them to visit the library and improve their reading. Imagine eager students rushing through the library door to charge their e-readers and find a comfy spot to enjoy a few more chapters of their favorite books before class starts! Imagine how that extra reading time stimulates learning when they get to class! Our goal is to create an environment that encourages students to spend more time in the library before, during, and after school to give their brains a boost and push them forward to excellence.

Your donation will assist us in creating a supportive learning environment focused on building reading skills and creating a love of books.

One of our school mottos is: "Learning Today..Leading Tomorrow!" Reading creates a strong foundation for lifelong learning and success - help our library be a part of that foundation.
