My Students

My students are creative, clever and very enthusiastic about learning! As of March 16th, my students started remote learning with aspirations of returning back to their second grade classroom. Sadly, school is closed indefinitely for the rest of the school year due to the COVID-19 virus, which presents many challenges for students, parents, and teachers.

Many students are children of immigrants whose native language is not English.

This creates an even larger disadvantage to remote learning for these students due to being multi-language learners (MLLs).

Also, many of our students are children of essential workers and therefore are left home with grandparents or older siblings for the duration of the school day.

Living in quarantine can become very monotonous. They're trying their very best, but it is becoming increasingly more difficult to keep them motivated remotely. They continuously express with sorrow, how much they miss their classroom, routine, teacher, friends, and entire school community!

So many of these children are really struggling with things to look forward to. I would like to bring a bit of sunshine to their summer vacation by gifting each of them with a surprise goody bag!

My Project

Please help me give my students learning and art materials for home and distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic to bridge the gap during the summer months.

My students need Summer Bridge Activities to complete during the summer months due to summer vacation academic regression or slippage.

My students need summer kits that contain grade-level reading material and activities. These kits will help bridge remote learning and summer slippage which is known to happen within the summer months. These materials will be mailed or delivered directly to my student's home.
