Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the pleasure of guiding students from grade k-5 through their academic endeavors at a culturally diverse school in Queens, NY. As a Teacher of Speech Improvement, I work with amazing students who have a variety of strengths. Many of my students are bilingual or have some emerging English language skills as well.

I help children find their voice and communicate their needs.

My student are hard workers who don't let their speech or language difficulties hinder their potential. We work on using a positive environment for growing and succeeding in the academic world.

My Project

My Speech and Language students make gains each and everyday they attend therapy. Whether they are increasing their verbal or nonverbal communication skills, these skills lead to success in their written expression as well. My students deserve a well organized system for monitoring and tracking their data and achievements. This can be attained through the use of an online subscription to SLPtoolkit. Since our students with Speech and Language needs benefit from a variety of assessment measures for growth, this program would be ideal, since it provides present level assessments, progress tracking tools, an IEP goal bank, and strategies that can be provided to teachers.

I want to provide the best therapy to my students through engaging, common core aligned activities with a foundation in literacy.

Access to an online subscription to SLPnow will allow me to access a multitude of materials, resources, and developmentally appropriate motivating tools to engage each and every student's needs. These literacy based activities can be chosen based on my students' individual needs and interests in order to keep therapy motivating and challenging!
