Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a speech teacher in the Bronx, and my students are very special to me. They all have an IEP and are part of the special education program in a general education classroom. These material will help them achieve their goals in reading, comprehension/understanding, and expanding their vocabularies in a way that is interesting and fun. I would like for my students to enjoy reading, and be able to be independent learners, and with the help of speech therapy using these materials I think they will be able to do so!

Scholastic magazines provide interesting and educational reading materials so students can work on multiple different skills.

Reading folders and touch and read cards will allow my students to independently improve their vocabulary and comprehension skills. I like to use positive reinforcements throughout student learning to help motivate them!
