My Project

In a special day school setting, standing desks can offer numerous advantages that cater to the unique needs of students. These desks promote better posture and can reduce the discomfort associated with prolonged sitting, which is particularly beneficial for students who may have physical disabilities or conditions that affect their mobility. By allowing students to alternate between sitting and standing, educators can create a more dynamic learning environment that encourages movement and engagement. This flexibility can help students maintain focus, reduce restlessness, and improve their overall concentration during lessons.

Moreover, standing desks can foster a sense of independence and self-regulation among students.

For those with attention-deficit disorders or sensory processing issues, having the option to stand while working can help them manage their energy levels more effectively. This autonomy not only empowers students to take control of their learning environment but also enhances their ability to participate actively in classroom activities. By incorporating standing desks into the classroom, special day schools can create a more inclusive and supportive atmosphere that addresses the diverse needs of their students, ultimately leading to improved educational outcomes.

These desks will be available to anyone in the k-12 program. A student will request this desk, as well as at least one being immediately available in each classroom.
