My Students

My students are both dedicated and resilient. They are eager and willing to learn, therefore as educators, we want to give them the best resources possible in order to help them do so. Many of our students have experienced trauma and/or barriers to their academic success. Our school is a college preparatory high school with a focus on medical studies, therefore offering a rigorous academic program. In order to help our students achieve academic success, we must focus and nurture their mental health through social-emotional learning. This is what we plan to do for them this upcoming school year.

My Project

These materials will help our students through our school counseling program. The games will be used during both group and individual mandated sessions in order to support our students who struggle with managing their emotions and social skills. The chairs will provide a comfortable place for my students to sit while they are doing work on their iPads and/or laptops. They will also be placed in the "stress relief" corner of my office. These materials will also be available for students in their free time, in their classrooms, and/or if they are in crisis.
