This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is made up of English Language Learners, general education students and students with disabilities. Even with their various learning challenges and language challenges, my students never fail to exceed my expectations, which as a teacher is always humbling. These incredible learners deserve to have the supplies they need.

My Kindergartners are very enthusiastic and excited learners. They just need some additional tools to get them on their way to learning.

My Project

Kindergarten is all about centers! 5 year olds have a lot of difficulty sitting still for lessons. Therefore, interactive centers are vital to learning reading and math skills. Kids love to create, draw, and move. Why not center their learning around those activities?

Play-doh, sensory sand and alternative seating are just a few things my students will love using during center time.

Instead of writing our alphabet over and over, why not mold play doh into letters or write the letters in sensory sand? In order to learn our numbers, we will mold play doh and put the correct amount into ten frames.

We also need alternative seating, not only for students who have difficulty sitting still, but also to be comfortable when we have reading time. We are excited to learn and just need a few supplies to get us started.
