This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach 9th grade students in Detroit. My students are resilient, determined, and spirited. Overcoming odds is a constant reality for them and I am inspired by their drive to encourage each other and succeed. My students understand the value of education and have aspirations to enter society college and career ready and ultimately become productive citizens in society.
My Project
These materials will make a tremendous difference in my students' learning because it will help them individually focus on audio and other interactive activities they'll complete in a 1-1 classroom environment. In a 1-1 classroom environment my students will be asked to watch and listen to videos and audio that reinforces material. They will also have the opportunity to practice skills they're learning and collaborate with their classmates. Skills practice and collaboration will be a constant using online programs such as Microsoft Teams, Schoology, DBQ Online, Khan Academy, ReadWorks, and CommonLit.
