My Project

It's my first year teaching at DAC High School and I want to give my students everything they need to succeed! My wonderful co-teacher and I have 25 exuberant 9th graders with learning differences. We've only been together for 2 weeks but I can already see their diverse personalities, skills, and potential shining through. Their disabilities vary, but two things they have in common are difficulty focusing and struggling with math. Our class will be together for all 4 years of high school, so these resources will serve them for their entire high school career.

With the right tools, I know these 9th graders can thrive in high school.

Over-the-ear headphones help students by blocking out distractions and allowing them to listen to music, reducing their anxieties. Math is difficult for many of them, and having access to scientific calculators will allow them to focus on applying their Algebra 1 skills without getting bogged down by calculating on paper.
