My Project

My students love working in our makerspace classroom. They especially love designing things for other people.

Students will use sheets of sublimation acrylic to design a product, such as a customized keychain or bookmark, for a client.

They will develop social-emotional learning through asking thoughtful questions to their client and practicing reflective listening. They will also apply practical math and design skills by taking measurements and designing a prototype of the product in design software. Finally, they will use their artistic abilities to create a graphic that matches their client's personality and sublimate it onto their design. Students will make laser cut the final product and heat press their design to their sublimation blank.
