Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have very big hearts and truly make do with what they have. For some, school is their safe haven from extremely poverty-stricken and violent homes. My students are in a very low-income community. They are kind and loving but may not get all the things they need. I have really gotten to know these students in our building and their families very well. I have already learned that I have children who come from needy families. Some of my children come from split families where they may or may not see one or both parents. I am very lucky to be able to touch these kiddos' lives. They are very creative and love to be able to explore their learning world through my classroom.

Each child in the class has his or her own unique personality that has really brought our community together.

They are very creative and are starting to really enjoy the academic world and are improving every day.

My Project

After the crazy remote school year, we just had students need to get back to normal. Some of my new first graders have never step foot into a classroom yet in their academic careers. The school supplies like the Crayola crayons, Crayola markers, expo markers, and index cards are the materials that students will benefit from when they enter my classroom. They need to practice with hands-on materials that they may never have used because of the remote situation.

Please help me get some of these materials for the students so that they can have a great start.

I found that binders are great ways to place laminated math graphic organizers so that they won't lose the material. It also aids in having to reprint over and over (so we are helping to save some trees as well) .
