Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give," ~Winston Churchill. It is important to teach children to give back to their community and help them to see that their actions make a difference. Our Kindness Squad is taking on various missions to surround our school with kindness, give back to our community, and lead by example.

My students are constantly seeking ways to provide nurture and care to those in need.

They are eager to make a difference in many ways. Help me give my students food items, hygiene products, basic staples such as detergent, paper towels, and Kleenex. Additionally, warm clothing, hats, and gloves to create care packages for those in need in our community.

Some of my students do not know what it means to be homeless or without basic essentials. Most know they are fortunate, but they are at the age where they can't fully comprehend their world without the basics. I want them to appreciate what they have and not take the little things for granted. What better way to extend kindness and appreciation than by giving back in doing something special for those in need in their community.

We hope by creating these care packages that my students can spread kindness to those less fortunate and make a positive difference in their lives.
