Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are the most amazing group of first graders you could ever meet. They are considerate, caring and passionate about learning. Many of them love math, while many of them seem to struggle. Those who struggle often lose confidence in their abilities because they don't feel successful. Many of the students are nervous to participate in math because they are afraid of being wrong.

One of the big initiatives with our school has been taking away the math books and allowing teachers to be more creative and strategic with their planning.

This allows us to create problems, and teach in a way that reaches each student where they are currently struggling. The problem is we lack the resources to make the execution of this plan seamless.

I am asking for labels in order to create our own student workbooks. On the labels I will create and print individualized math problems so every student is met where they need to be. Things will be differentiated in a way that everyone has a chance to be successful while I am able to create tasks that are creative and fun. Please help me make math more interesting and fun for my scholars.
