Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach an amazing group of high school students in special education who come to my study hall for extra support, structure, and encouragement. They are resilient, curious, and hardworking—many just need the right tools and environment to help them succeed. My classroom is designed to be warm, welcoming, and supportive, and yes, a little bit pink! Pink is my favorite color, and it’s become part of our classroom vibe—it helps set a calm, cheerful tone for learning.

With this project, I’m hoping to stock our study hall with essentials like calculators, Post-it notes, pencils, study corrals, timers, and other succesful student supplies—many of them in pink to match our aesthetic and make the space feel fun and safe.

These tools may seem small, but they make a huge difference in helping my students stay organized, focused, and ready to learn.

Many of my students struggle with executive functioning and benefit from visual timers and accessible materials. The supplies I’m requesting will help reduce stress and empower them to take ownership of their learning. My goal is to create a structured, supportive space where students feel confident, motivated, and cared for. Your support will help make that possible—and it will absolutely add a little sparkle of pink joy to their day!
