This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach a very gifted group of magnet students who’ve expressed an interest and joy in singing/ music production and performing. With the districts support in scheduling, I have been fortunate to teach and offer a wide array of musical platforms ranging from chorus, music production and instrumental lessons. More students are now able to engage in the arts that wouldn’t have had the means prior. Students are opening their minds to truly create art as they hear it. As the demand increases, our music program continues to grow and thrive. I want to be able to supply each child the same opportunities, in order to cultivate each students best musical growth.
My Project
My students have the desire and talents to create music from nothing but in the struggle to record these creative works is a bit tricky with the equipment that we are working with. Their progress into live show recording is high but the appropriate materials is a bit lacking. Help us narrow the gap with reliable monitoring system as well as better percussion options for the rhythm section.
I will be able to teach my studio class how to mix and record their performances, shows, and talents through proper monitoring and proper balance.
Through individual monitoring sources, we can help the student ingage in the performance but remain in overall balance as a band.
