Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in an inner city struggling through issues of drugs, crime, and poverty, but despite it all they maintain a high level of hope and pride in their city.

The culture of the community is highly creative and expressive in many aspects of the arts, from visual arts, to theater, to music, to dance.

The people and students here support and embrace the creative arts unlike many wealthier areas, and the people shine very bright because of it.

My Project

My students will use the acrylic paints and canvas boards to create a wide variety of compositions. They will learn how to control and layer the paint as well as how to create effective and well developed compositions and designs.

The opportunity for these students to work with these materials is very rare and I am deeply grateful they are afforded this chance by the charitable donations of supporters.

My students are extremely creative and expressive and will cherish thrive working in the medium of paint on canvas.

Many of these students will be able to express ideas, feelings, and stories that they would not be able to explore without this program and support of materials. The supplies for painting are not inexpensive, even in bulk, and we are going to appreciate the new supplies.
