My students are eager to learn and full of energy. I teach at a rural Title I school. Almost 100% of students receive free or reduced lunches. My student population includes foster situations, parent or parents who are incarcerated, grandparents raising grandchildren, emotional needs, and those who learn differently.
Every student deserves to feel valued no matter their zip code.
I have students whose basic needs are met and those whose are not. Our school's meals are for those who need them. Counseling, clothing, school supplies, and extra-curricular opportunities are available to try to reach all our families.
My Project
Literacy is a big focus in science and social studies. The books that my students have access to are boring and not current or at their grade level.
Studies Weekly will allow literacy to be the main focus of the classroom.
These materials align with Arkansas standards in Science and Social Studies. Students will also have science, social studies, and literacy at their fingertips. The lessons are engaging and teach the standards through meaningful, real-world examples.
Help me provide my students with the best possible learning environment possible. Many of my students are below grade level in all content areas and these materials will encourage them to practice their skills on a daily basis.
